Identify the relevant local process
Registration arrangements depend on where you will live and your residence situation. The relevant International Citizen Service may cover specified municipalities; otherwise, your local municipality may handle the process.
Tell us the Danish city or municipality, intended move date and accommodation situation. We help identify what needs to be prepared for the local route and which details still need clarification.
The yellow health insurance card
The yellow Danish health insurance card, known as the sundhedskort, is connected with access to the Danish public healthcare system. It is separate from a work permit or EU residence document. Healthcare entitlement and civil registration must be considered according to your circumstances.
The illustration on this page uses an invalid CPR number and entirely fictional personal and doctor details. It shows the type of card newcomers may encounter; it cannot be used as a health card or identity document. Check the official guidance for the information relevant to your registration and healthcare coverage.
Prepare residence and address information
The registration preparation should bring identification, relevant residence documents and address information together. Examples in official local guidance include a passport or ID, applicable residence evidence, and a rental agreement or housing confirmation. Family-related records may also be needed depending on the circumstances. These examples are a starting point for checking the local requirements, not an exhaustive list for every applicant.
A booking confirmation for temporary accommodation should not automatically be treated as proof that an address can be used for registration. If your housing arrangements are provisional, clarify their suitability with the relevant registration authority before relying on them in your plan.
The checklist is tailored to the local process and your situation. This prevents a family or individual from assuming that the documents used by someone in another municipality will necessarily be sufficient.
What we help organise
Our service can include a review of the information required, an agreed document checklist and guidance on preparation for the relevant application or appointment. We explain what needs to be supplied and whether further clarification is required before proceeding.
If booking or submission coordination is included, it is stated in the scope. Personal attendance and identity checks remain your responsibility where required. Local accompaniment is a separate arrangement, not an automatic part of every registration service.
Registration is separate from other administrative tasks
A CPR number, residence document, tax number and bank account should not be presented as a single interchangeable registration. A tax registration does not by itself demonstrate that municipal residence registration has been completed.
After the relevant civil registration work, other tasks may still need attention. We can help organise a separate settling-in scope for digital access, tax registration preparations and bank documentation. Your circumstances determine the order; there is no universal timetable that fits every newcomer.
Common preparation problems
Address evidence can be incomplete, a family document may use a different name, or a person may arrive without the residence information needed for their local process. These issues should be identified before attendance rather than discovered when the appointment begins.
Tell us if you previously lived in Denmark or already have a Danish identification number. Include any completed registration steps so we do not treat your case as an entirely new arrival without checking.
Timing and fees
The preparation time depends on the materials available and the local requirements. Appointment availability and the municipality's handling are external to our service. We do not promise registration before the authority has considered the relevant facts.
The quoted fee covers the agreed private preparation and coordination. It does not buy a CPR number or guarantee a decision. Other document-related services are quoted separately where needed.
Frequently asked questions
No. The responsible registration authority decides whether the requirements for civil registration are met. Our role is to help prepare and coordinate the agreed work; we cannot issue a CPR number or promise that an address or document will be accepted.
Useful preparation starts with your residence basis, intended address and the information relevant to your move. Tell us the municipality and the stage you have reached. We can explain the support available and identify questions to clarify before you rely on an appointment or assume registration is complete.
A hotel booking or temporary address should not automatically be treated as sufficient for municipal registration. What matters is whether the accommodation and documentation satisfy the relevant requirements for your circumstances. This needs clarification before you plan around that address.
Tell us where you expect to live, how long the arrangement lasts and which municipality is involved. We can scope assistance with preparing the registration information and identifying the relevant questions. Housing searches, bookings and deposits are separate services or expenses and are not included in CPR preparation by default.
No. Tax registration and municipal civil registration serve different purposes, even when related identification information is involved. Receiving information for tax administration should not be assumed to mean your address has been registered or that the other arrival steps are complete.
Describe what you have already received and what you need help with. We can clarify the task you are commissioning and coordinate relevant preparation within the agreed scope. Specialist tax advice, calculations and cross-border tax planning require a separate assessment and are not automatically included in our registration assistance.
Yes, family registration support can be assessed alongside your own move. Each person’s identification, residence basis and relevant family information must be considered, so a partner or child should not simply be added to your registration without reviewing the required preparation.
Include the family members, nationalities, expected arrival dates and municipality in your enquiry. We can propose a coordinated scope and explain which tasks are shared and which remain individual. The quotation identifies the people covered and any additional charges before you decide to proceed.
For the first enquiry, describe your nationality, expected arrival date, intended municipality and the residence documentation you already have. Tell us about your accommodation and whether you need preparation only or broader arrival support. You can describe your stage without sending sensitive document copies.
Please do not include passport scans, CPR numbers or identity credentials in the enquiry form. If we need to review documents for an agreed service, we explain the appropriate collection method separately. This lets us understand the work before requesting personal information that is not yet necessary.
